However, every gamer knows that buying used consoles and games comes with risks, as the items may be in poor condition or even broken. One gamer decided to take the risk and bought a used PlayStation 4 because it was priced at a bargain: only $4 USD.
The player, known as narfnerfmods on Reddit, recently shared his story, as he expected the worst but was in for a big surprise when he plugged in and turned on the console he got for an irresistible price.

Second-hand consoles are affordable, but it's rare to see someone offer a system for only $4 USD. Anyone would doubt buying a PlayStation 4 at that price, thinking it might not turn on or only serve as spare parts.
Of course, narfnerfmods hesitated when he saw the shiny Sony console at such an attractive price. Despite fearing the worst, he decided to buy it even knowing he risked losing his money and ending up with an unusable console.
The player found the PS4 abandoned in a second-hand store along with other appliances. The system was sold without cables or a controller, but he still used a coupon to save a little more, paid $4.34 USD, and took it home. He found a cable and borrowed a controller to test it. To his surprise, the console worked flawlessly.
“Came home and found a cord that worked and borrowed a controller from a friend to get past the welcome screen. As far as I can tell it works perfectly. This is our first PlayStation. We've traditionally been a Nintendo family.”
As you can imagine, his excitement was huge since he got an incredible console for an unbeatable price. The player said he would get several controllers and games and would format the system. He also revealed that his son asked for a PS5 for Christmas because he wants to play Marvel's Spider-Man.
The community had good news for him, as they informed him that Insomniac Games' title is also playable on PS4. So, his son will probably be able to use the $4 console to enjoy the game he desires so much.
