According to a reputable insider, Nintendo is preparing more ports for the coming months. Nate the Hate revealed that one of his favorite Nintendo 3DS games will return with a new version for Switch. The game in question is Kirby: Planet Robobot, developed by HAL Laboratory. Originally released in 2016, the game won over fans with its unique mechanics and creative design.

The title is notable for introducing the Robobot Armor, a powerful suit Kirby can use to defeat enemies. It received widespread acclaim for its polished presentation and excellent level design, earning a score of 81 on Metacritic.

According to the insider, Kirby: Planet Robobot will make its comeback sometime next year as a re-release for Switch. Unfortunately, no further details were shared, leaving questions about the release date and any potential new content.

"A game that’s one of my personal favorites will be coming to the Nintendo Switch in 2025. That title is Kirby: Planet Robobot. It’s one of the best 3DS games to ever release, and it’s that type of title that I think Nintendo can continue to use as filler for Switch in 2025.”

While Nate the Hate is a trusted source, Nintendo has not confirmed any plans for a Kirby-related re-release. For now, this remains a rumor, and we’ll have to wait for official confirmation or denial from the company.

Switch will see major re-releases in 2025

Nintendo plans to keep the Switch active in the coming months, with several ports in the works. The first is Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, originally released for the Wii and later ported to the 3DS. The re-release will feature minor graphical improvements but no new content.

Additionally, the company is working on Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, an updated version of the popular Wii U game. This port will include enhanced visuals and a new story to entice fans back into its expansive world.
