Buying video games and subscribing to services to enjoy them is easier than ever. All you need is a bank card, an internet connection, and a little time to get everything you want from the comfort of your home.

However, not everyone has access to a card, which can complicate things. A PlayStation player found himself in this situation, so he decided to ask his teacher for help to subscribe to PlayStation Plus and enjoy many games on his console.

His esports coach agreed and lent him his credit card, but soon regretted it. The player took advantage of the situation to spend over $1000 USD without permission on the PlayStation Store. Upset and concerned, the teacher called the police and filed a report against the PlayStation fan.

This peculiar case occurred a few days ago in Jonesboro, Arkansas, United States. It all started when an unidentified PlayStation player asked Stuart Simpson, his esports coach, for help in subscribing to several months of PlayStation Plus.

The student didn’t have a credit card to make the payment, so he asked Simpson for a favor. The coach agreed and entered his banking information into the player’s console. However, he later got an unpleasant surprise.

According to reports, the player successfully subscribed to Sony’s service. But later, when Simpson tried to remove his information from the console, he discovered the bad news: the player had used his card multiple times without permission to purchase various digital items, details of which were not disclosed in the police report.

Simpson noticed unauthorized charges totaling $1056 USD on his card, all made on the PlayStation Store. Naturally, he didn’t sit idly by and took action.

The player was reported to the police

As soon as Simpson saw what his student had done, he acted to resolve the issue, as he wasn’t willing to pay a debt that wasn’t his. He called his bank and explained the situation, hoping the charges would be reversed.

Fortunately, the bank decided to revoke all purchases made by the player, so Simpson won’t have to pay the $1056 USD. Despite this, he went to the police to file a complaint against the player. At the moment, no further information is available, so the outcome of this case remains unknown.
