Enjoying our favorite games with friends is always more fun, but sometimes it can be complicated since console gaming often requires a subscription for online multiplayer, and not all of our gaming buddies have one.
Fortunately, Sony has a surprise for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 users, as it will soon let them enjoy one of the benefits of PlayStation Plus for free. Thanks to an attractive promotion, players will be able to enjoy online multiplayer matches without a subscription for a few days.
This way, the community can access multiplayer modes and online features of their games without having to pay $6.99 USD, which is the monthly cost of the most affordable PlayStation Plus plan.
PS Plus to offer a free multiplayer weekend soon
PlayStation players can already mark their calendars, as the next free multiplayer weekend is just around the corner. PS5 and PS4 users still have a few days to plan and make the most of the promotion, which kicks off in December.
Specifically, players on both consoles will be able to enjoy online multiplayer modes for free from December 6 to 8. The only requirement is to have a PlayStation Network account to access the services and, of course, an Internet connection.
This promotion is part of the celebrations for PlayStation's 30th anniversary. Sony is also preparing additional surprises for the mentioned dates. In particular, several tournaments will take place where players can test their competitive skills to win prizes.
PlayStation plans several esports tournaments
From December 6 to 8, PlayStation will also host a series of tournaments exclusively for PS5 users. The top participants will win prizes such as avatars and rewards related to the featured games in the competitions.
To participate, players only need to register through the Game Center or the PlayStation Tournaments button. Competitions will be held in sports and fighting games. Below is the list of featured titles:
