The successful remaster of the original Tomb Raider trilogy has paved the way for Aspyr, the American studio, to continue with the Darkness Saga, where players experienced a mature Lara Croft facing greater challenges. The exciting news is that we’re not too far from the return of these classics, which originally launched over 20 years ago.
The Next Remastered Tomb Raider Trilogy is on the Way
Crystal Dynamics and Aspyr have announced Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered, the next trilogy in Lara Croft’s adventures, which will be treated to remastered graphics and updated gameplay for today’s standards. This collection will include enhanced versions of Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation (1999), Tomb Raider: Chronicles (2000), and Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness (2003). The trailer showcases graphical improvements and the revamped look of the protagonist, as well as new touches added to the environments.
Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered will launch on February 14 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC, the same platforms where the first remaster was released earlier this year.
As for the Lara Croft franchise, the animated Tomb Raider series on Netflix is now available. Titled Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, the 8-episode series follows Lara as she grapples with past traumas while embarking on a dangerous global journey to solve an ancient mystery.
