This week, Fortnite returned to mobile devices in the European Union after a long and costly legal battle between Epic Games, Apple, and Google. To celebrate this milestone, the developers of the Battle Royale are offering players a fabulous gift: a skin called Katalina, which is exclusive to iOS and Android users.

The reward can be obtained for free by collecting 100,000 XP across various Fortnite game modes. However, the skin is only available on iOS devices within the European Union and on Android devices globally.

Fortunately, there is a method to unlock it anywhere in the world and on any device compatible with the game, including consoles and PC. Here’s how to do it.

How to Get the Katalina Skin for Free in Fortnite: Battle Royale

Starting this week and until November, players can obtain the Katalina skin for free. The character comes with the Michi Tactical Wrap, Kat Claws Pickaxe, and Katalina’s Michi Backpack.

As mentioned, all Android users can unlock the content anywhere in the world by collecting 100,000 XP. Meanwhile, the skin on iOS is exclusive to users located in the European Union.

To bypass this limitation and get the skin on consoles and PC, you can follow these simple steps, which involve playing on a map with a friend. Here’s the process:

  • Find any Creative mode map, such as the one with code 6155-1398-4059
  • Join the map in a private lobby with a friend
  • Leave the game while your friend is still in it
  • Rejoin the game

This method will activate the Katalina missions, and you’ll only need to collect 100,000 XP to get the skin. The missions will only activate for the player who rejoined the game, so you’ll need to repeat the process if the other player also wants to complete them.
