Cinema has iconic horror franchises that have left their mark on generations of fans; however, very few have the importance and legacy of Halloween. The 1978 film was a watershed moment for the horror genre and for the career of John Carpenter, the filmmaker who brought Michael Myers to life.

The slasher saga will soon return to the video game industry, as Boss Team Games, the studio behind Evil Dead: The Game, has confirmed that it is working on 2 titles based on Halloween. What’s interesting is that Carpenter is involved in the projects, which will be developed using Unreal Engine 5, Epic Games' engine.

According to the details, both Halloween games will be based on the original movie. John Carpenter will be actively involved in at least one of them. The filmmaker expressed his excitement for these new projects, as he loves video games.

"As a huge gamer, I’m thrilled to help bring Michael Myers back to life in this game, and my hope is to scare you all a lot," said the celebrated filmmaker, who will work with Boss Team Games, Compass International Pictures, and Further Front.

There are currently few details about the games, as they are in an early stage of development. This means that there is no release window or confirmed platforms yet. We only know that the titles will allow fans to relive key moments from the movie and take control of iconic characters.

"Everyone at Boss Team Games is a huge horror fan, and obviously, Halloween holds a special place in the hearts of all horror fans. Working with iconic characters like Michael Myers and developing John Carpenter's original vision is literally a dream come true," said the studio.

Halloween has become one of the most iconic horror franchises of all time thanks to the figure of Michael Myers, a killer obsessed with Laurie Strode (played by Jamie Lee Curtis). Since its first installment, it has become a classic with many fans, so its return to video games is excellent news.
