Despite his young age, Cynic excelled in the professional Counter-Strike circuit, where he was part of Nouns and BOSS. He won the admiration of the community thanks to his skills that he demonstrated in the tournaments he participated in since 2022.

"There is no easy way to say this, but earlier this week David 'Cynic' Polster passed away. This news came as a complete shock to all of us. David was an incredibly hard working individual, vocal leader, kind person, and amazing player.

"I spent a large majority of my life competing against David from the time that I was 15 years old. I think he is the player that I've competed against the most. He always pushed my teams and I to improve. I'm thankful for the 30 days I spent with David as a teammate," said Tommy Ryan, his trainer at BOSS.

Some of his teammates and people who knew him also posted messages on social networks to say goodbye to Cynic and thank him for everything they shared together.

"I remember inviting him to sit down with me and eat in Stockholm for the RMR like it was yesterday. Shy but super nice guy if you really knew him. Lots of good memories playing against him. Such terrible news. Rest in peace David," said one of his friends.
