The Dead by Daylight Movie Will Have Some Five Nights at Freddy's Elements to Be Successful

Blumhouse Productions executive is a fan of the horror game and is excited about the adaptation

Nearly a year ago, Blumhouse Productions announced that they would be working on adapting the horror video game Dead by Daylight for the big screen. Since then, there hasn't been much information, but one of the key figures has just revealed that the project will replicate some elements of the Five Nights at Freddy's movie for success.

While the production company is not currently working on the sequel to Five Nights at Freddy's, they are actively working on adapting the other horror video game Dead by Daylight, and Ryan Turek, the executive producer and vice president of film development at Blumhouse Productions, has reported that they are already working "actively" on the film.

"I will say that one of the projects I am actively involved in is Dead by Daylight, which is the adaptation of a game that has been around for about 7 years. I see it as a celebration of the horror that the game itself is," stated the executive.

What's most revealing is that the executive mentioned that the Dead by Daylight movie will be similar to Five Nights at Freddy's in the sense that Blumhouse Productions will target the game's community rather than the masses, so the primary intention will be "to make a video game adaptation for the fans," regardless of the risks involved.

Although he did not provide details about the production, Turek mentioned being a fan of the Behaviour Interactive title to such an extent that, despite prioritizing newer horror games like Alan Wake 2, he often returns to the game to enjoy a match or two.

"I'm a big fan of Dead by Daylight. I played, though I prefer newer games like Alan Wake 2, and I said, 'Let me play some Alan Wake 2 tonight... Eh, I'm going to jump into Dead by Daylight and be the killer tonight.' I'm very excited about that, and we're creatively brainstorming what the path forward is," said Turek in an interview with Collider.
