Since the release of its original installment almost 10 years ago, Five Nights at Freddy’s expanded with multiple sequels and spin-offs. Shortly after the live-action movie starring Josh Hutcherson, one of the community's most beloved games returned with a new version.
Recently, Steel Wool Studios shared the first details of Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2, a new virtual reality game set to debut in late 2023. It's the sequel to the title that originally premiered in 2019 for PlayStation VR on PS4 and PC via Steam.
People who haven't tried the virtual reality version of this spin-off have a new opportunity to do so. The good news is that the relaunch includes all additional content.
Five Nights At Freddy's: Help Wanted – Full Time Edition debuts by surprise
Alongside the announcement of the new franchise title, Steel Wool Studios confirmed that the original 2019 release of Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted returned with a new version, which is compatible with PS VR2 for PlayStation 5. It seems that this relaunch does not incorporate substantial improvements.
The Full Time Edition of this VR offering includes the base game and the Curse of Deadbear DLC, which offers 50 new mini-games. This package costs $29.99 USD, but the good news is that players who already own the PlayStation 4 game can upgrade to the new version for only $9.99 USD.
Apparently, this new version of the virtual reality title does not take advantage of the exclusive features of PS VR2, so it only serves as a port that allows PlayStation 5 owners to experience the original game that debuted on PC and Sony's previous-generation console.
In Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted, players step into the shoes of a new employee at the Fazbear Entertainment restaurant chain. Although far from perfect, it captivated players with its 6 fun and terrifying mini-games.
The spin-off received very positive feedback and soon became the highest-rated game in the franchise on Metacritic.
But tell us, what do you think of this surprise release? Are you excited about the sequel? Let us hear from you in the comments.
