During a recent quarterly earnings call, Capcom revealed some intriguing information. Aside from confirming the acquisition of Swordcanes Studio, the company disclosed that they have a surprise title up their sleeve. They intend to launch this new, unannounced game by the end of the current fiscal year, which ends on March 31, 2024. While they kept most details under wraps, they have high expectations, anticipating it will sell millions of copies.
What could this mysterious Capcom game be?
It's challenging to speculate about which title Capcom might be referring to. Many fans theorize that the most likely candidate could be a new installment of Monster Hunter, one of Capcom's most solid franchises. To provide context, Monster Hunter World has shipped over 15 million units, and the expansion Sunbreak for Monster Hunter Rise sold over 2 million copies.
Another part of the community speculates that a new Resident Evil title might be on the way. While the remake of Leon S. Kennedy and Ashley Graham's adventures just debuted this year, a report from a popular insider indicated that Capcom is supposedly already working on the 9th main installment of the series.
