Since its announcement, Exoprimal has garnered attention thanks to its unique concept that interestingly combines PvP battles with PvE elements. It's a highly online-focused experience, but does that mean it will require a constant internet connection?
In an interview with LEVEL UP, we questioned the team behind this new Capcom title about whether the adventure can be undertaken without the need for a permanent internet connection.
An internet connection will be necessary to play Exoprimal
Director Takuro Hiraoka confirmed that Exoprimal is an online-only game, meaning players will need to be connected to the internet at all times to play. This news is far from surprising, especially when considering the multiplayer nature of the project.
However, the creative director confirmed that the team is working on a special feature in the game that will assign missions where there will be no direct player-versus-player confrontations, effectively removing PvP elements. This is intended to allow players to enjoy the game in a more casual manner.
"Based on the feedback we received during the Open Beta, we are working on a feature in the full game that assigns missions without direct player combat, where victory is determined by completing the PvE objectives as quickly as possible. This feature will allow players who enjoy PvE and those who prefer PvP to play in a casual manner. We believe this option will be more fun than playing solo and we hope you give it a chance," commented the director.
The official release of Exoprimal is just around the corner. A few days ago, players had the opportunity to participate in an Open Beta and try out some of the content in this multiplayer offering.
