There is no doubt that Motion Twin is one of the most important studios in the indie scene. This developer not only released Dead Cells and supported it for several years, but also collaborated with Konami on one of its most memorable franchises, Castlevania. The French studio continues to surprise and has now revealed that it is preparing an animated series of Dead Cells.

Motion Twin shared the most unexpected news of the day, confirming that it will adapt its video game Dead Cells to television through an animated series that will be produced by Bobbypills, the same studio that produced the game's animated trailers (Bobbyprod), so fans who played the game already know what to expect. If this studio sounds familiar, it's because they're also responsible for the recently announced Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon spin-off, Captain Laserhawk.

What will the Dead Cells animated series be about?

According to the details, the Dead Cells animated series will consist of 10 episodes, each 7 minutes long, which will mix "humor, action, and a bit of madness".

The bad news is that the animation will debut exclusively in France at some point next year, with a later release in other regions. The series will be available on the anime streaming service ADN, which will be in charge of producing the project.

"The show will take fans to a cursed island that has been plagued by a strange disease. After the foolish king developed a remedy that ended up turning the population into monster creatures, prophecies about a hero with a flaming head began to emerge. As indicated, the hero is real, but saving a kingdom was not in his plans and he just wants to be left alone," reads the official project description.
