Once again, the video game industry is mourning. This weekend, news broke of Brendan O'Brien's passing, a voice actor best known for lending his voice to Crash Bandicoot and other characters in the franchise created by Naughty Dog.

According to Brendan O'Brien's obituary, he passed away on March 23, 2023; however, news of his passing only recently surfaced on social media with several tributes made by fans. The voice actor was 61 years old at the time of his passing.

"He put down his guitar on March 23, 2023. The silence leaves behind deep memories of a life well-lived. He touched strangers, friends, and family with his love of life, humor, and positive attitude. There are no words to express how much he is missed. We love you, Brendan," the obituary states.

Born on May 9, 1962, in California, United States, Brendan O'Brien was an American actor and voice actor with an extensive career. In the world of video games, he made a huge impact by working on Crash Bandicoot with Naughty Dog. The actor was responsible for giving voice to Crash Bandicoot and other characters such as Dr. Neo Cortex, Dr N. Gin, and Pinstripe in the original trilogy, as well as in Crash Team Racing and Crash Bash.

"One of his proudest moments was providing the original voices for Crash Bandicoot video games during Naughty Dog's years from 1996-2004. He encouraged nostalgic Crash fans in their own adventures and loved signing their memorabilia. Like music, character voice design for animation, radio, and video games came naturally to him," O'Brien's obituary states.
