After a long wait, Resident Evil 4 Remake, the remake of the action-horror classic, will officially hit stores this week. To celebrate the release, Capcom released the first episode of what looks to be a new animated series and you can already watch it for free.
Without a doubt, survival horror is a bloody and dark experience where Leon S. Kennedy must face the horrors of a Spanish village and its surroundings to rescue Ashley, the president's daughter. While the adventure has moments of unintentional humor, it maintains a grim and tense tone.

With this in mind, it is striking that Capcom decided to go in the opposite direction, that is, to make the official anime very colorful and cheerful. Incredible as it may seem, the concept works very well and fulfills the task of entertaining and making us smile innocently.
The series of animated shorts is called Leon and the Mysterious Village and shows tender versions of the protagonist, Ashley, and the game's fearsome enemies. The first episode, titled "Looking for Ashley", lasts barely a minute and in it we see Leon meeting the villagers and then being killed. All this, of course, with a cheerful and colorful tone reminiscent of Studio Ghibli feature films such as Heidi and many more.
It is a mystery how many episodes this series of shorts will have and its release date. In any case, fans enjoyed the first episode and praised Capcom for this curious and original initiative that includes many different details that refer to many of the most iconic situations, characters, and phrases of the 2005 title.

In parallel to this minishow inspired by Resident Evil 4 Remake, we must remember that a new CGI action movie of the franchise is on the way. Of course, we're talking about Resident Evil: Death Island, which will debut sometime this summer. And regarding the game Resident Evil 4 Remake will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC from March 24.
