The much-anticipated Silent Hill live event on October 19 opened in style with a long-rumored and much-desired announcement: players and gamers, the Silent Hill 2 remake is a reality!

"In my agitated dreams, I see that city. Silent Hill." The announcement trailer takes us back to the foggy, cursed town of Silent Hill as James, a grief-stricken man, receives a letter from Mary, his wife who died three years earlier. Haunted by the incident, the man returns to the shores of Toluca Lake, hoping that she will be there waiting for him.

Twenty-one years have passed since the original game's launch. As you can also see in the clip at the top of the news, the graphical difference is abysmal, due in part and above all to the implementation of the next-generation Unreal Engine 5 graphics engine.

Developed by Bloober Team - a Polish team already behind horror-tinged video games such as Layers of Fear, Observer, and The Medium - the Silent Hill 2 remake can also boast veterans Masahiro Ito as Creature Designer and Akira Yamaoka as composer on the creative team.

The game, which will simply be called Silent Hill 2, will initially launch only on PlayStation 5 and PC, with a 12-month exclusivity period. After that, it will be made available elsewhere.
