The Game Awards 2022 already has a date; a new category was announced

In the video game industry, it is always at the end of the year when one of the best events for all gamers awaits us, The Games Awards. This event organized by Geoff Keighley is where we celebrate and reward the year's best projects.

In addition, this event brings with it more and more novelties as it will be in the case of this year in which a new category is added that will reward the best adaptation of a video game, whether in movie, book, comics and more.

Finally, the first details of the award ceremony were announced, including the exact date. As usual, the event will occur at the year's end. The Game Awards 2022 will surprise us with announcements and prizes on December 8 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California.

Everyone can enjoy the award for free through various platforms, such as YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, Facebook, and TikTok. And that's not all; this is getting bigger and bigger as Keighley plans to bring the awards experience to theaters in the United States.

BEST ADAPTATION to recognize outstanding work adapting video game IP to other entertainment forms.

And as we mentioned before, we have the novelty of the new category for this year in which they seek to recognize the work of video game adaptations to other entertainment media.

"With so many game-inspired projects in the world of entertainment, the time is right to honor excellence in adapting video game worlds to other media," said Keighley.

The Game Awards 2022 will take place on December 8.
