Apex Legends: Hunted, the latest major update for the award-winning hero shooter, was released today by Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment.
Hunted introduces the new Legend and sniper Vantage, who can see a threat approaching from thousands of feet away through her visor, as well as changes to the Kings Canyon map that highlight the new Relic POI, a new Battle Pass, and much more.
During the last Apex Legends developer panel, Level Designer Jeff Shaw said Respawn was taking a new holistic approach to map updates.
“We’re looking at all the facets of the map and focusing on the health of the map, really identifying problems in the map, and coming up with good solutions to them.”
“We’re trying to touch more areas of the map than just a single corner or something like that. So, it’s something we’re really excited about, and it’s definitely a new philosophy that we’re going to be leaning into for future map updates.” Shaw said.
What's new in season 14, Hunted?
- New Legend: Vantage - She has learned the hard way through trial and error. The daughter of a wrongfully convicted criminal who had to care for her alone on the barren ice planet Págos, Vantage can weather any storm. Forced to trek through enemy territory with only her little winged companion Echo, she grew into the ultimate survival specialist and a professional marksman. Meet the youngest Legend to compete in the Apex Games.
- Changes in Kings Canyon - Time changes everything, including Kings Canyon. Skull Town, formerly known as Relic, has risen from the ashes. Terraforming has also changed popular ambush locations, widening or completely closing them, while The Cage has been replaced with a simple platform that anyone can fall prey to.
- Increased Level Cap- Aim for dizzying heights with the new maximum level increase. During the climb, players can collect multiple Legend Tokens and Apex Packs.
- New Battle Pass - Players can set their sights on new stylish cosmetic items with the Hunted Battle Pass. Wraith hunts for trophies in her Legendary "Veteran Voyager" skin, and Caustic's Legendary "Field Research" skin shows off his wild side. In addition, the Legendary "Lucky Draw" skin turns any secondary weapon into the ultimate Wingman. Vantage, Bangalore, and Horizon all have Epic skins that players can unlock, with full sets complementing their new heroic looks. The Battle Pass also includes new loading screens, emotes, banner frames, weapon charms, and a music pack. For the first time, certain challenges can now be completed in a player-chosen mode.
Apex Legends is available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PS4, Switch, and PC. Players can enjoy the game and all the new content for free!
