The upcoming title would take advantage of the next-gen consoles’ possibilities

Players and developers from the community recently celebrated the tenth anniversary of Lollipop Chainsaw’s launch. Dragami Games director Yoshimi Yasuda took this festivity to announce the comeback of the famous zombie-killing game. And a few weeks after sharing the exciting news, today we get a glimpse of what the game will be about this time.

If you consider yourself a fan of Lollipop Chainsaw, you’ll be glad to find out that the new installment will arrive as a remake for next-gen consoles. Across social media, Yasuda revealed that he would bring Juliet Starling back sometime next year.

WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT LOLLIPOP CHAINSAW’S REMAKE SO FAR

Yasuda knows that the original title is hard to find and even harder to reproduce on modern consoles. On his Twitter post, he mentioned: "Unfortunately, various factors resulted in things making it so that fans can no longer easily play Lollipop Chainsaw, and it has been some time since players have not been able to access the game on current consoles.”

Because of this, he aims to give the game a new life with a remake and benefit from what video game technology offers today. To make this happen, Dragami Games (led by Yasuda ultimately) acquired the game’s rights and has gotten into work to deliver a remake next year. According to Yasuda: “we, the original development staff on Lollipop Chainsaw, think of the game as very precious to us, and did not want to leave it in limbo, where players who want to play it cannot. Therefore, we purchased the Lollipop Chainsaw intellectual property from Kadokawa Games and decided to develop a remake. We have already contacted Warner Bros. about development and are being supported by them in this endeavor."

Yasuda assured the fans that even though Dragami would develop the title, he would be part of the team, resulting in "a combination of development staff from the original version development staff from Dragami Games."
